Owl for all: Wild Oxfordshire
Charity: Wild Oxfordshire
Model: Meeting Owl 3
The Charity
Wild Oxfordshire was established in 1993 as the Oxfordshire Nature Conservation Forum and has spent more than 30 years bringing people together to support nature recovery across the county. Through expert advice, county-wide conservation initiatives, community engagement and landscape-scale projects, the organisation works to create a more resilient and biodiverse Oxfordshire for both people and wildlife.
The Requirement
As an organisation that regularly brings together staff and stakeholders in hybrid meetings, Wild Oxfordshire needed a simple, reliable solution to help connect remote participants with those in the room. The technology needed to be easy to use for non-technical staff while improving the quality of communication and collaboration during larger team meetings.
The Outcome
Since receiving a Meeting Owl through the “Owl For All” programme, Wild Oxfordshire has enhanced its hybrid meeting experience with clearer audio, improved video quality and a more inclusive meeting environment. The Owl's 360-degree camera ensures everyone in the room can be seen, while its straightforward setup and operation make it accessible for all users.
Eleanor Meehan, Communications Co-ordinator at Wild Oxfordshire, commented: “Since acquiring our Meeting Owl at Wild Oxfordshire, we've found it to be a useful addition to our hybrid meetings and the initial experience has been positive. The Owl is straightforward to set up and operate, particularly once the companion app has been downloaded, making it accessible for staff who may not have much technical experience. One of the most noticeable benefits has been the increase in the quality of the audio and video. Meetings are clearer helping connect remote participants to in room discussions, especially as our meetings are often hybrid. The 360-degree camera view ensures everyone is visible, which can be especially useful during our larger team meetings, with over 10 people in one room. The Owl has performed well. The combination of good sound quality, clear video and simple setup has made it a valuable tool for supporting hybrid working and improving the experience for colleagues joining remotely.”
