The Project
The Belgrave Postgraduate Centre at Nottingham Trent University (NTU) is now the hub for postgraduate, doctoral, and executive education at Nottingham Business School. To support NTU’s vision of a cutting-edge, sustainable learning environment, Roche AV Pro partnered with NTU to integrate advanced audio visual solutions. Sharp/NEC's LED technology was chosen to align with NTU’s goals of modernising the learning environment while emphasizing sustainability.

Project Objectives
The refurbishment of the Belgrave Postgraduate Centre aimed to meet the evolving expectations of postgraduate students, many of whom balance education with employment or are on the cusp of entering the workforce. The objective was to provide state-of-the-art technology, mirroring the technological capabilities seen in leading industries, including those of FTSE 100 companies. NTU also prioritised sustainability, insisting that its suppliers, including Roche AV Pro, adhere to environmentally responsible practices throughout the project.
The Solution
At the heart of this transformation is the installation of Sharp/NEC’s cutting-edge LED technology, which delivers the WOW factor with its striking visual presence. The centrepiece of the installation is a 162-inch NEC LED-E018i-162 digital display wall, featuring a 1.8mm pixel pitch. Located in the main lounge area, it serves as a gathering point for keynote presentations, supporting high-resolution content crucial for engaging students across various disciplines.
The durable metal construction of the LED wall ensures perfect alignment of the modules, resulting in a seamless visual experience. This robust design not only supports longevity but also contributes to sustainability. The metal framework naturally dissipates heat, prolonging the life of the components, while its fire-retardant properties ensure the safety of students and staff. Additionally, the metal is 100% recyclable, supporting NTU’s commitment to the circular economy.

Sustainability was a core driver for NTU in selecting Sharp/NEC’s LED technology. The system is designed for long-term energy efficiency, promising a 10-year lifecycle with minimal energy consumption.
